LEGIC SM-6300 - now compatible with all globally relevant RFID standards

The SM-6300 reader IC from LEGIC supports all globally relevant smartcards such as LEGIC prime and advant, NXP MIFARE, and now also HID iCLASS®*. With the SM-6300, it is possible to migrate seamlessly from conventional transponders to LEGIC smartcards or virtual cards.

LEGIC is proud to offer the SM-6300, a unique reader IC, now enhanced with the communication standard from Inside Secure. This means that the SM-6300 is the world’s first reader chip that reads all standard communication protocols and, therefore, can also be used for migration scenarios. Whether you present a LEGIC, MIFARE, or HID iCLASS smartcard to the reader, the SM-6300 reads them all. Thanks to its BLE functionality, it can also be used for mobile applications, making it the perfect reader IC.

The SM-6300 is the choice when it comes to security. The integrated secure element, certified according to Common Criteria EAL5+, meets all requirements for securing ID and IoT applications. The very compact system-in-package design and the minimal chip size of just 8 × 8 mm are additional advantages. They guarantee a simple and cost-efficient design-in. “Thanks to its compatibility with HID iCLASS, we can now offer an allround reader IC, that has not been seen on the market so far. We are proud that this flagship is part of our technology platform and that we can meet our customers’ wish for a future-oriented reader,” tells Marcel Plüss, Vice President Innovation & Technology at LEGIC.
