LEGIC introduces a new member of its 6000 series Security Modules, the Bluetooth®-only SC-6410. Based on LEGIC OS60, the programmable two-chip solution is ideal for secure, smartphone-based reader applications where the distance between users and infrastructure is often beyond arm’s reach such as park garage entries, EV charging stations, building sensors, cabinets, containers, or inside closed devices such as HVAC equipment. Additionally, the SC-6410 integrates USB 2.0 to enable convenient firmware updates or configuration changes over an industry-standard wired interface as well as over-the-air via Bluetooth Low Energy.
The cost-optimized SC-6410 is compatible with LEGIC Connect, LEGIC neon credentials, and LEGIC Orbit key and configuration management service. It offers UART, SPI, I2C and USB interfaces in addition to 20 general purpose I/O ports (GPIOs). The chipset embeds an ARM 32-bit RISC processor and offers a Trusted Execution Environment with 128 KB of programmable flash memory and 5 KB of RAM for Custom Code. An additional 250 KB of secure flash memory is available for temporary Custom Code data (cleared during firmware update) as well as hardware-accelerated crypto functions. As with all 6000 series Security Modules, secure cryptographic key storage is provided based on Common Criteria EAL5+ certified hardware. A Device Manufacturer Certificate (DMC) is provided to support PKI applications and secure device registration.
