Zurich, Switzerland 19 June 2023 - LEGIC announces the availability of a new dual-mode Smartcard IC, the ATC4096-MP313 (henceforth “MP313”). The MP313* supports both LEGIC advant and NXP’s latest MIFARE DESFire standard EV3 for access control and other contactless smart city applications.
The MP313 is recommended for smartcard populations in corporate, campus or institutional access control environments where both advant and MIFARE DESFire EV§ standards are supported or required.
The MP313 supports LEGIC advant & MIFARE DESFire EV3 based on ISO 14443 A. Memory size is 4096 Bytes for LEGIC advant and 3520 Bytes for MIFARE DESFire EV3. Available transmission encryption methods are 2K3DES and AES128 (for DESFire). Typical RF range is 10 cm, with speeds up to 424 kbit/s. The IC is delivered as MOA8, or as a wafer. Smartcards based on MP313 can be encoded and personalized using LEGIC's Master-Token System-Control (MTSC) which allows access security to be managed entirely in-house.

* ATC4096-MP313 replaces the ATC4096-MP312 which supported the older MIFARE DESFire standard EV2. Although officially discontinued by LEGIC in April 2023, all-time-buy of ATC4096-MP312 is still supported while stocks last.
