A fun way to discover secure IoT applications

Security and simplicity: From 27th February until 1st March 2018, the experts for contactless identification from Swiss company LEGIC will demonstrate that these attributes needn’t be contradictory as they attend the embedded world trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany for the third time.

These days, increasing numbers of devices are connected with each other. The endless number of possible applications is also associated with brand new requirements regarding the security and stability of the technology which is behind it. And at the same time those who use the technology want it to be quick and straightforward to use.

In terms of simplicity and security, one of the key challenges of IoT solutions is connectivity. Older devices in particular do not always have a network or Internet connection. At the trade fair, LEGIC will be demonstrating that this needn’t pose a challenge with the example of a Pacman game machine along the lines of those commonly found in the amusement arcades in the 1980s. Although the game machine doesn’t have an Internet connection, it can be controlled with the use of a mobile app which is based on the LEGIC Mobile SDK. In this respect, the authorization is provided via an encrypted end-to-end channel and the trusted service LEGIC Connect. Using this connection, data can be made available on a secure basis from a backend system via a smart device or data can be returned to the network via the smart device. With LEGIC Connect, every device can be connected with any backend and can therefore become part of the Internet of Things.

Visitors to our trade fair stand can experience a fun way of discovering how the LEGIC technology works and the advantages that it offers.
