LEGIC joined Hospitality Technology Next Generation

A few weeks ago, LEGIC Identsystems Ltd joined the industry recognized association Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG) as a Corporate Industry Partner Member.

HTNG is a global not-for-profit trade association that fosters, through collaboration and partnership among hoteliers and technology providers, the development of next-generation solutions that will enable them to do business globally in the 21st century.

As a leading provider of secure digital key services and Bluetooth and RFID hardware technology to hotel lock and access reader vendors, LEGIC intends to actively contribute to the work of HTNG.

Initially, LEGIC is participating in the new HTNG workgroup “Internet of Things (IoT)” whose initial goal is to educate hoteliers on the topic and offering insight to opportunities that may arise within the hospitality industry. Topics such as secure Bluetooth communication between a hotel lock and the internet via a room controller to indicate door opening events, uploading of logging data and downloading of lock firmware will be some of the areas where LEGIC can give recommendations and direction.

LEGIC’s secure end-to-end technology is also applicable to securing other applications within the hotel room environment. Bluetooth will be increasingly used to communicate between devices such as a room controller and heating, air conditioning, water management and other in-room systems. Properly securing such connections in an increasingly dangerous world has become a priority. A technical article on this subject can be viewed under the following link.
