LEGIC Connect credentialing platform offers integrated smartcard support.
Security, efficiency, ownership - The future of access with LEGIC neon-on-card
A LEGIC neon smartcard supports multiple credentialing applications, each with its own cryptographic keys, and highly benefits from its seamless integration with LEGIC Orbit to enhance security, ownership and efficiency. LEGIC neon technology is the result of a security-by-design approach, utilizing state-of-the-art cryptographic algorithms and end-to-end encryption.
As the LEGIC neon applet follows the design of the LEGIC Mobile SDK, a reader can access a LEGIC neon file on the card in exactly the same way as on a mobile device.
Furthermore, the same LEGIC neon file name and LEGIC neon application keys can be used for LEGIC neon-on-mobile and LEGIC neon-on-card. This enables infrastructure operators to issue identical data and credentials on both mobile devices and smartcards, with key management handled by LEGIC Orbit, an integral part of the LEGIC Connect platform.

Customer-Managed Keys
LEGIC Connect technology ensures that customers have full control over their cryptographic keys. Each key is tailored to a specific project, customer, or application and can be managed directly by the partner, end customer, or operator. Keys are never visible to operators or any third party, while still enabling seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
With LEGIC neon, customers have complete flexibility of every cryptographic key. Key distribution is handled through Versatile Configuration Packages (VCP) by LEGIC Orbit.
Flexible and Scalable for Multi-Application
LEGIC neon supports up to 32K bytes for multiple applications on a single card, enabling simple activation and personalization of the apps using LEGIC neon files.
Third-party RFID chips that support Java can easily be activated and personalized using a LEGIC SM-63x0 security module based reader over an end-to-end encrypted connection.
The life cycle approach allows the LEGIC neon-on-card to function as a secure container for various data payloads, enabling operators to manage neon cards as digital credentials throughout their entire life cycle, following the same flexible and scalable method as with LEGIC neon-on-mobile.
Current LEGIC neon-on-mobile users can effortlessly integrate card-based solutions using the same technology, ensuring a unified and scalable credentialing system.
Backward compatibility with LEGIC Security Modules
LEGIC neon seamlessly integrates with customers’ existing infrastructure. Its backward compatibility with LEGIC SM-4x00 and LEGIC SM-63x0 security modules ensures a smooth transition to the LEGIC neon-on-card solution without disrupting existing systems.
