Security, simplicity and flexibility are amongst the most important needs for users in the area of contactless people identification. A system needs to be customisable to changing demands and has to do justice to increased security requirements for individual areas, or even for entire installations. With the cross-standard transponder chip platform (CTC platform) LEGIC presents a solution which meets all these needs and at the same time is compatible with existing installations based on the LEGIC RF standard. The CTC4096-MP410, which was introduced in June 2012, already communicates via ISO 14443A and also LEGIC RF.
Unlimited flexibility
The ability of the CTC platform to communicate in several RF standards enables users to move between different installations with one transponder chip. This means that depending on security requirements, individual areas can be selectively designed and implemented based on prime or LEGIC advant, without the data medium having to be replaced.
The route from prime to LEGIC advant
The CTC platform creates individual and flexible migration scenarios for today’s users of prime applications. Instead of having to replace the entire installation in one step, with the CTC platform the transponder and individual areas can be switched over to LEGIC advant step by step. Once the full migration to LEGIC advant has been completed, if desired the LEGIC RF interface can be indefinitely disconnected.
Investment security & sustainability
By deciding on the CTC platform today, you will be investing in sustainable security. The cross-standard transponder chip is in line with the progressive security level of LEGIC advant technology, and there is also a prime memory on the chip. What’s more, a LEGIC advant reader can also access the prime memory, so that the data here remains available on the readers used even after the LEGIC RF interface has been disconnected.
Simplified card design
Whilst up to now several transponder chips for different RF standards had to be placed on a data medium, with the CTC platform a single chip is sufficient. For data medium manufacturers this means a simplified card design and lower costs.
