LEGIC and MCX Systems Sp. zo. o., provider of comprehensive ICT solutions, signed a licence agreement in Poland.

Häfele supplied the Schlosshotel in Kitzbuhel (Austria) with scores of door- and wall-mounted terminals for guests‘ rooms and administrative areas plus emergency escape door furniture as well as changing room locks for the SPA area with LEGIC.

LEGIC and BCS Solutions GmbH, the Service Centre for business solutions in hardware and software, security technology and services, have just concluded a highly promising licence partnership agreement. LEGIC technology extends BCS's integrated approach and supplements its existing offering with new contactless identification options.

With its efficient system, polyright SA continues its successful market positioning, while strengthening its collaboration with LEGIC Identsystems Ltd. The most ambitious project is most certainly the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). polyright SA was commissioned to set up the new chip card system with integrated contactless smart card technology. More than 11,000 employees and students make use of a multifunction card, valid for their entire course of study.

LEGIC and Höft & Wessel AG, the Hannover-based supplier of hardware and software for retail and transport companies, have signed a licence agreement. The first successful integration of LEGIC technology has recently been carried out for Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). The SBB will use the new mobile terminals to expand its range of services in tourist areas.

LEGIC and Atron Systems AG, international supplier of ticket sales systems and administration software for transport companies, sign a license agreement. Using LEGIC smart card technology will allow Atron to equip its existing products for contactless operation and take another leap forward thanks to intelligent product innovation.

PricewaterhouseCoopers, the renowned and trustworthy partner of financial accounting, audits, financial and legal advice, and management consultancy decided for LEGIC. One of the challenges facing the new system was to provide a cleverly devised access system, to provide optimum security yet which at the same time was to be as easy to use as possible. PwC had even more requirements to make of the new system: Employees ID cards were also to be used to make e-payments, book flexible workstations, and operate the “Follow&Secure” system, an innovative office automation concept. But with LEGIC’s contactless all-in-one-card technology it was a simple matter to bring all these requirements together. Corina Gerber, Facilities Manager at PwC: “We are very pleased with the new systems. Our expectations and requirements have been met in full. Maximum security, clarity, user-friendliness and perfect operation were important aspects to us. We would choose LEGIC again!”

The versatile ticketing and access control system has been supplied by the Austrian technology company and LEGIC partner n-tree solutions Ticketsysteme GmbH.

The ski room lockers and high-tech family lockers with integrated ski boot heating that were newly installed were fitted with battery-operated GAT Lock 6000 locker locks. They are operated via LEGIC data carriers integrated in a user pass, with each family member receiving their own card for family lockers. The LEGIC locking system has proved very popular among Northstar guests thanks to their ease of use, and will be supplemented next winter by an electronic access control system for access to the ski room.

The Split Kaštela Airport is a regional airport on the Adriatic coast where most of the traffic is charter flights bringing in summer holiday makers from large airports around Europe. It is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2006. In the first half of 2005 the Split Kaštela Airport implemented a new time and attendance system. In the past employees had to carry a number of ID cards for various purposes. To minimize the number of ID cards all this various data was written to a LEGIC smart card. The contactless LEGIC smart card now also serves as an official badge (with a picture of an employee) and each employee has to carry it in a visible place. There are 600 cards in circulation. The new system is based on contactless LEGIC readers and smart cards.

Integrated smart card functionality is helping ‘fuel’ efficiency at the international headquarters of Petro-Canada, one of Canada’s largest oil and gas companies. Around 250 staff benefit from the user friendly system that combines e-payment technology with access control at a newly refurbished London office block where workers could in the future also be using their individual cards for computer log on.

An events centre which is the only one of its kind in Germany is currently being created in the west of Stuttgart. In order to manage the two linked events centres jointly via a locking system, it was necessary to work out a new concept and also to install a new locking system in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle.

LEGIC and Italy based Bytechnology S.r.l. have signed a license agreement.

LEGIC has announced the appointment of Nedap AVI as its latest licence partner in the Netherlands. The company’s newest innovation is an automatic vehicle identification (AVI) system using LEGIC ID technology. Nedap’s TRANSIT system working with the contactless LEGIC advant based Combi-Booster, which is an in-vehicle mounted device, transmits both secured LEGIC smart card data and an embedded vehicle ID simultaneously. The system provides reliable identification of vehicles from up to 10 meters (33 feet) at high speed in typical access control applications.

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd and Ideco Technologies Pty (Ltd) have agreed on a license partnership: Ideco becomes the first LEGIC license partner on the African Continent. Currently, Ideco is implementing fingerprint-based systems only. However, the company plans to expand into the area of contactless identification and developing its own customised solutions based on contactless smart cards. ”Our partnership with LEGIC forms the basis to explore exciting new opportunities. We wish to complement our current technology and product offering by implementing contactless products as well”, says Vhonani Mufamadi, CEO at Ideco.

Linde Material Handling UK Ltd has installed a state-of-the-art access control and time & attendance system using the latest LEGIC contactless smart card technology. ID Credentials are the primary means of access control for the seven hundred employees at the plant, and these are presented to readers at four main entrance turnstiles. The same passes are also used to clock in and off shift as the plant operates on a 24/7 basis depending on manufacturing demand.
