HOTELDATA, in partnership with a local partner, implemented a cashless food payment system for the Liebherr-Hausgeräte Marica EOOD factory in Bulgaria. Thanks to the Austrian firm’s know-how and to LEGIC core elements, employees have been able to pay for food without cash since early 2012.
Liebherr-Hausgeräte Marica EOOD belongs to the LIEBHERR group. It occupies an area of 55,000 square metres and employs 1,500 people in Radinovo in the province of Plovdiv in Bulgaria. It makes high-value refrigerators and freezers and components. Three shifts are operated around the clock from Monday to Friday. Sometimes the factory even works at the weekend too. In such intense working conditions, it is important for employees to be able to have a warm meal. Since early 2012, they can do this without the need for cash.
A successful conclusion
HOTELDATA supplied the charging machines and reading appliances for the tills and developed the communication interface between the till application software and the till readers with LEGIC 4000 series reader chips. The local partner firm supervised the tills and employees of Liebherr-Hausgeräte Marica translated the user interface of the charging machine into Bulgarian. After adjusting the interface between the components and configuring the entire system, the project was brought to a successful conclusion.
A longer break for employees
After a familiarisation phase, cashless payment transactions are now accepted by employees. Waiting times at tills have been significantly reduced. This is because there is no more need to search for cash in wallets or for till staff to find the right change. This eliminates queues and gives employees a longer break.
