The LEGIC card-in-card solution is a virtualised transponder chip in the form of software, which operates on credentials such as credit cards and NFC smartphones and includes all the functions of a physical LEGIC advant transponder chip. Classic LEGIC applications such as access control, time & attendance and cashless payment can be combined with third-party applications, for example PC Logon (PKI), credit card payments and electronic tickets.

Security of the LEGIC card-in-card solution is certified according to Common Criteria (ISO 15408) EAL4+ by the German Federal Office for information security (BSI). The EAL4+ certificate is the highest internationally-recognised security level and verifies that structures and processes are appropriate for the development and distribution of products with high security requirements. Additionally, the security of the development environment and protection of the LEGIC card-in-card solution against attacks whilst in operation were tested and certified in line with the highest possible criteria.
